Make juicy and crispy chicken tenders in your air fryer with this simple recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. In another shallow dish, whisk the eggs.
  3. In a third shallow dish, place the flour.
  4. Dredge each chicken tender strip first in flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with the panko mixture.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  7. Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket, ensuring not to overcrowd. You may need to cook in batches.
  8. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can double-coat the chicken tenders. Dip in egg, then panko, then egg again, and finally panko again.
  • Ensure chicken tenders are fully coated in the panko mixture for the best texture.
  • Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of your chicken tenders and your specific air fryer model.
