Crispy and golden French toast sticks made easily in the air fryer, perfect for a quick and kid-friendly breakfast.

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices of thick-cut bread (like challah or brioche), cut into 1-inch strips
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fruit

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  2. Dip each bread strip into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s coated on all sides. Let excess drip off.
  3. Arrange the coated bread strips in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd. You may need to cook in batches.
  4. Brush the tops of the bread strips with melted butter.
  5. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
