A kid-friendly Dorito taco casserole with seasoned beef, cheese, and crunchy chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
  • 1 bag (9.25 ounces) Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes and green chilies.
  5. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread half of the crushed Doritos on the bottom.
  6. Pour the beef mixture over the Doritos.
  7. Top with the remaining crushed Doritos.
  8. Sprinkle the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • Serve immediately.
  • Optional toppings include sour cream, salsa, or chopped cilantro.
