A quick and elegant 15-minute garlic butter shrimp scampi recipe, perfect for a weeknight dinner. Serve over pasta or with crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta or crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
  5. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Cook for 1 minute, allowing the sauce to slightly reduce.
  7. Stir in the fresh parsley.
  8. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  9. Serve immediately over cooked pasta or with crusty bread.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  • This dish pairs well with a crisp white wine like Pinot Grigio.
