Make sticky-sweet honey garlic shrimp skewers in 15 minutes. This recipe includes grilling and broiling instructions, perfect for a quick party appetizer.

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the prepared skewers. Discard any leftover marinade.
  6. Grill the shrimp skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
  7. Alternatively, you can broil the shrimp skewers: Preheat your broiler. Place skewers on a baking sheet lined with foil. Broil for 2-3 minutes per side, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For meal prep, marinate the shrimp and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Grill or broil just before serving.
