Fall-off-the-bone pork ribs cooked hands-off in a slow cooker, then finished on the grill or broiler for a perfect summer cookout.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 lbs pork ribs (St. Louis style or baby back)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Place the ribs in your slow cooker. Pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the ribs, ensuring they are coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the ribs are tender.
  5. Carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker.
  6. For a crispy finish, place ribs on a baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes, or grill over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes per side, basting with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
  7. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra tender ribs, you can add a splash of water or broth to the slow cooker.
  • If you don’t have a grill or broiler, you can also finish the ribs under your oven’s broiler. Watch them closely to prevent burning.
  • Serve with your favorite BBQ sides.
