A crowd-pleasing sushi bake casserole that offers a fun twist on traditional sushi rolls.

  • 1 cup cooked sushi rice
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces imitation crab meat, flaked
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded nori (seaweed)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour this mixture over the cooked sushi rice and gently mix to combine.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flaked imitation crab meat, mayonnaise, sriracha, and soy sauce. Mix well.
  4. Spread the seasoned sushi rice evenly in the bottom of a small baking dish.
  5. Dollop the cream cheese over the rice.
  6. Spread the crab mixture evenly over the cream cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded nori and sesame seeds on top.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • You can add avocado slices or cucumber to the layers for extra flavor and texture.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of sriracha.
  • Serve warm with soy sauce and pickled ginger.
