Create perfectly crispy air fryer gnocchi that are golden brown outside and soft inside. This easy recipe uses simple seasonings for a flavorful snack, appetizer, or quick side dish ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 ounce) package shelf-stable or refrigerated gnocchi
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the gnocchi in a medium bowl. If using refrigerated gnocchi, ensure they are dry. If using frozen, do not thaw them first.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil over the gnocchi and toss gently to coat them evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning mix over the oiled gnocchi and toss again until the seasoning adheres.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius).
  5. Place the seasoned gnocchi in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding, which prevents crisping.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time, until the gnocchi are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Remove the crispy gnocchi from the air fryer and immediately transfer them to a clean bowl.
  8. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot gnocchi and toss quickly so the cheese melts slightly onto the warm surface.
  9. Serve immediately as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.

Notes

  • You can substitute the seasoning with Italian seasoning or a pinch of dried oregano for a different flavor profile.
  • For an extra layer of flavor, toss the finished gnocchi with 1 teaspoon of melted butter before adding the Parmesan.
  • Serve these potato bites with marinara sauce or pesto for dipping.
