Create incredibly moist and flaky salmon fillets coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic butter glaze. This easy baked salmon recipe is perfect for quick weeknight dinners and delivers restaurant-quality flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for simple cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and Dijon mustard until well combined. This creates your flavorful glaze.
  4. Season the salmon fillets lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Spoon the honey garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, spreading it to coat the surface.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Remove the salmon from the oven. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For perfectly flaky salmon in the oven, avoid overcooking. Check for doneness around the 12-minute mark.
  • If you prefer a slightly crispier top, you can briefly place the salmon under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning the honey.
  • This recipe works well for salmon meal prep ideas; simply store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
