Create a delicious restaurant-style BBQ chicken pizza at home with this easy recipe. Perfect for a summer dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ball pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
  • Cornmeal, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) or prepare your grill.
  2. Lightly dust a pizza peel or baking sheet with cornmeal.
  3. Stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
  4. Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  5. Distribute the shredded chicken and sliced red onion over the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the toppings.
  7. If baking in the oven, carefully slide the pizza onto a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. If grilling, carefully place the pizza directly on the grill grates. Grill for 5-8 minutes, or until the crust is cooked and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove the pizza from the oven or grill.
  10. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro, if desired.
  11. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the pizza before baking.
  • You can use leftover grilled chicken or rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Experiment with different BBQ sauces to find your favorite flavor.
