A simple and flavorful recipe for tender, shredded BBQ pulled chicken, perfect for sandwiches and weeknight meals.

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in your slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve hot on buns, in tacos, or as desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • You can adjust the amount of BBQ sauce to your preference.
  • This recipe is great for meal prep and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
