Create impressive, handheld blueberry pie bites quickly using just four simple ingredients. These flaky, gooey treats are perfect for satisfying a pie craving without the fuss of a full pie crust. They are ideal for easy entertaining or a fast dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands or similar)
  • 1 cup good quality blueberry pie filling
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the biscuit dough by separating the biscuits. Gently flatten each biscuit piece slightly on a clean surface.
  2. Place one teaspoon of blueberry pie filling in the center of each flattened biscuit. Do not overfill.
  3. Fold the edges of the biscuit dough up and over the filling, pinching the seams tightly to seal the filling inside completely. Roll gently between your palms to form a smooth ball.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar with the melted butter. Brush the tops of the sealed dough balls lightly with the butter mixture.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the dough balls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch. You will need to cook these in batches.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the pie bombs are golden brown and cooked through. Cooking time varies by air fryer model.
  7. Remove carefully from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving. These are best enjoyed warm for the gooey center experience.

Notes

  • If you do not have blueberry pie filling, you can substitute it with 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries mixed with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch.
  • For extra flavor, roll the butter-brushed tops in cinnamon sugar instead of plain sugar.
  • These are excellent for make ahead desserts; you can assemble them, place them on a parchment-lined tray, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before air frying.
