- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and cook, without stirring, until it reaches the soft-ball stage (235°F or 113°C on a candy thermometer).
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the pecan halves, cinnamon, and salt until the pecans are evenly coated.
- Quickly spread the coated pecans in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Let the pecans cool completely, then break them apart.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
