Enjoy a homemade version of PF Chang’s popular chicken lettuce wraps, featuring savory ground chicken and a flavorful sauce served in crisp lettuce cups.

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1/4 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • 8 large butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili garlic sauce.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Stir in the chopped water chestnuts.
  7. Spoon the chicken mixture into the prepared lettuce cups.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions.

  • For crispier lettuce, rinse the leaves and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
