A quick and cheesy chili cheese dip perfect for game day or parties, made with simple ingredients and adaptable for stovetop, oven, or slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chili with beans
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the chili with beans, diced tomatoes and green chilies, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion (if using), chopped bell pepper (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cream cheese is melted and the dip is heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve hot with your favorite tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a smoother dip, stir in a tablespoon or two of milk or heavy cream.
  • To keep the dip warm for a party, transfer it to a slow cooker set to the ‘warm’ setting.
  • Adjust the heat by using mild or hot diced tomatoes and green chilies, or by adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.
