A simple and creamy coleslaw recipe with a tangy dressing, perfect for BBQs and picnics.

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 medium carrots, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrots.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture.
  4. Toss well to coat all the ingredients evenly.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a thinner slaw, add a tablespoon or two of milk or buttermilk to the dressing.
  • You can add finely chopped celery or onion for extra flavor and texture.
  • This coleslaw pairs well with BBQ pulled pork or fried chicken.
