Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  2. Place the broccoli florets in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Toss everything together until the broccoli is evenly coated. You want a light coating, not excess oil pooling at the bottom.
  4. Spread the seasoned broccoli onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary. Crowding steams the broccoli instead of roasting it.
  5. Roast for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the broccoli.
  7. Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the edges of the broccoli are deeply browned and crispy, and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
