Discover the secret to tender, juicy Crockpot Steak Bites that require minimal prep. This easy, set-it-and-forget-it slow cooker meal delivers rich, savory flavor perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner served over mashed potatoes or rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into the basin of your slow cooker.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the liquid mixture over the steak cubes in the slow cooker. Stir gently to coat the meat evenly.
  4. Place the pieces of butter on top of the steak mixture. Do not stir the butter in.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the steak is very tender.
  6. Remove the lid and stir the melted butter into the sauce to create a light glaze.
  7. Serve the juicy steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • For an even richer flavor, you can briefly sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet before adding them to the slow cooker, though this step is optional for this easy recipe.
  • This dish pairs well with a medium-bodied red wine, such as a Merlot, to complement the savory beef and garlic notes.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the steak after cooking and simmer the remaining liquid on the stovetop until reduced.
