Create an elegant and refreshing sparkling cocktail perfect for holiday parties, brunch, or New Year’s Eve. This easy party drink uses fresh strawberries and simple ingredients to serve a crowd with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle chilled Champagne or dry sparkling wine
  • 1 cup strawberry puree (from fresh or frozen strawberries)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced for garnish
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries or cranberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry puree by blending fresh or thawed frozen strawberries until smooth. Strain the puree if you prefer a seedless texture.
  2. In a large punch bowl, combine the strawberry puree, orange juice, and simple syrup. Stir these ingredients together well.
  3. Chill the base mixture in the refrigerator for at least one hour if preparing ahead. This keeps the punch cold without diluting the champagne.
  4. Just before serving, gently pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda. Stir once gently to combine.
  5. Slowly pour in the chilled Champagne or sparkling wine. Stir very slowly one final time to incorporate the bubbles without losing too much effervescence.
  6. Add the sliced fresh strawberries and raspberries or cranberries to the punch bowl for presentation.
  7. Serve immediately in glasses filled with ice if desired, or without ice to maintain maximum fizz.

Notes

  • For an even more festive look, freeze some of the sliced strawberries or raspberries in a thin layer of water in a bundt pan to create an ice ring garnish.
  • If you are making this for a brunch, substitute the Champagne with Prosecco or Cava for a slightly different flavor profile.
  • To make this a make ahead party punch, prepare and chill the fruit puree, juice, and syrup mixture up to 24 hours in advance. Add the soda and Champagne just before guests arrive.
