Create elegant holiday appetizers with minimal effort. These cranberry brie bites use flaky pastry, creamy brie, and sweet cranberry sauce for a crowd-pleasing, festive snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into 12 equal squares.
  3. Gently press each pastry square into the cups of the prepared muffin tin, forming a small well in the center of each.
  4. Place one small cube of brie cheese into the bottom of each pastry cup.
  5. Top the brie with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce over the cheese.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the brie cheese is melted and gooey.
  8. Remove the bites from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a serving platter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a savory twist, add a small piece of prosciutto or a sprinkle of chopped pecans on top of the cranberry sauce before baking.
  • If you prefer a different flavor, substitute fig jam for the cranberry sauce for a sweet and savory appetizer.
  • You can assemble these bites up to 2 hours ahead of time. Keep them covered in the refrigerator and bake just before your guests arrive.
