Create these festive Grinch Oreo Balls for a playful addition to your Christmas dessert table. This simple, no-bake recipe uses crushed Oreos and cream cheese, coated in bright green candy melts and topped with a tiny red heart sprinkle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz green candy coating wafers (or white chocolate chips tinted green)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
  • Red heart sprinkles (for the Grinch heart)

Instructions

  1. Place the Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. If you do not have a food processor, place cookies in a large zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until fine.
  2. Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a medium bowl. Add the softened cream cheese. Mix with a spatula or clean hands until the mixture is completely combined and forms a thick dough.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get approximately 30 to 34 balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the Oreo balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step helps them firm up before dipping.
  5. Melt the green candy coating wafers according to package directions. If using, stir in the coconut oil for a thinner consistency.
  6. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted green coating, ensuring it is fully covered. Tap the bottom of the dipping tool gently against the side of the bowl to allow excess coating to drip off.
  7. Immediately place the coated ball back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. While the coating is still wet, place one red heart sprinkle on top of each ball to represent the Grinch’s heart.
  9. Allow the Grinch Oreo Balls to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by chilling them for about 15 minutes until the coating is firm.

Notes

  • For the best texture, use regular Oreo cookies, not the double-stuffed variety.
  • If you want a deeper green color, add one drop of green gel food coloring to the melted candy coating.
  • Store these festive Oreo truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
