Easy and flavorful honey garlic chicken wings perfect for game day or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with flour, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes.
  5. While the wings are baking, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  6. Cook the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. After 20 minutes, flip the chicken wings and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. In a large bowl, toss the hot baked wings with the prepared honey garlic sauce until well coated.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For crispier wings, you can broil them for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • Adjust the sweetness and saltiness of the sauce to your preference by adding more honey or soy sauce.
  • These wings are a great appetizer for game day parties.
  • Consider this an easy recipe for comfort food.
