Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with flour, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes.
While the wings are baking, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
Cook the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
After 20 minutes, flip the chicken wings and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
In a large bowl, toss the hot baked wings with the prepared honey garlic sauce until well coated.
Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
For crispier wings, you can broil them for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
Adjust the sweetness and saltiness of the sauce to your preference by adding more honey or soy sauce.
These wings are a great appetizer for game day parties.
