Crispy baked chicken wings coated in a zesty, peppery seasoning. A flavorful alternative to buffalo wings, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This is crucial for crispiness.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are not overcrowded.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Flip the wings and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  7. While the wings are baking, prepare the lemon pepper sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and fresh lemon juice. Stir in the lemon zest.
  8. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a clean bowl. Pour the lemon butter sauce over the wings and toss to coat.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can bake them on a wire rack set inside the baking sheet.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon pepper seasoning to your preference.
  • If you don’t have fresh lemon zest, you can omit it, but it adds a brighter lemon flavor.
  • These wings are best served immediately for maximum crispiness.
