A quick and flavorful marinade that keeps tuna steaks tender and delicious, perfect for grilling or pan-searing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Place tuna steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the tuna steaks, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes. Do not over-marinate as the citrus can ‘cook’ the fish.
  5. Remove tuna from marinade and discard the used marinade.
  6. Grill or pan-sear the tuna steaks to your desired doneness.

Notes

  • For a soy-free option, substitute coconut aminos for soy sauce.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade for a touch of heat.
  • This marinade is also excellent for salmon or swordfish.
  • Consider this a great shortcut for meal planning, similar to what you might find with meal delivery services.
