Create this sophisticated Peppermint Espresso Martini, a perfect holiday cocktail blending rich espresso with cool peppermint flavor. This recipe delivers elegant results for your next winter gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, cooled
  • 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (like Kahlua)
  • 0.5 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 0.5 oz Irish Cream Liqueur (like Bailey’s)
  • Ice
  • For Rim (Optional): Crushed peppermint candies mixed with a little sugar
  • For Garnish: 3 Coffee Beans or a small candy cane

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glass: If using a rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of your chilled coupe or martini glass. Dip the rim into the crushed peppermint mixture. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add the vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint schnapps, and Irish cream liqueur into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add ice: Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice.
  4. Shake well: Seal the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about 15 to 20 seconds until the shaker is very cold. This creates the signature foam.
  5. Strain and serve: Double strain the mixture into your prepared martini glass.
  6. Garnish: Place three coffee beans on top of the foam or add a small candy cane to the side of the glass. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use high-quality, freshly pulled espresso for the best flavor and foam. If you do not have an espresso machine, use a strong cold brew concentrate.
  • Chill your martini glasses in the freezer beforehand to keep the drink colder longer.
  • For a Chocolate Peppermint Espresso Martini variation, add 0.25 oz of chocolate syrup to the shaker before mixing.
