- 2 pounds boneless pork shoulder
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 24 slider buns
- Optional toppings: coleslaw, pickles, sliced jalapeños
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Place the pork in a Dutch oven or oven-safe pot.
- In a bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the pork.
- Cover the pot and cook for 3-4 hours, or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
- Remove the pork from the pot and shred it using two forks.
- Return the shredded pork to the pot and mix with the sauce.
- Toast the slider buns.
- Assemble the sliders by spooning the pulled pork onto the bottom halves of the buns. Add your desired toppings.
- Place the top halves of the buns on top.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, you can add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to the sauce mixture.
- If you don’t have an oven-safe pot, you can transfer the pork and sauce to a baking dish after cooking.
