A simple recipe for creamy, restaurant-style queso dip perfect for parties or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound processed cheese, cubed
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine processed cheese, diced tomatoes and green chilies, milk, onion, bell pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and dip is smooth.
  3. Do not boil.
  4. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • For a smoother dip, stir in a tablespoon of butter.
  • If the dip becomes too thick, add a little more milk, one tablespoon at a time.
  • You can add cooked chorizo or jalapeños for extra flavor.
