A comforting and easy one-dish baked casserole featuring savory sausage and potatoes with a creamy, cheesy sauce. This hearty meal is perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 lbs potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced sausage, sliced potatoes, and chopped onion.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and melted butter. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the soup mixture over the sausage, potato, and onion mixture. Stir gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, you can use kielbasa or Italian sausage.
  • Add a layer of cooked bacon for extra flavor.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
