Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6-ounce) sushi-grade Ahi tuna steaks
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, honey, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or longer for desired doneness.
  5. While the tuna sears, gently warm the glaze in a small saucepan.
  6. Remove tuna from skillet and slice.
  7. Drizzle with the sesame ginger glaze and garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.

Notes

  • For best results, use sushi-grade tuna.
  • Adjust searing time based on your preferred level of doneness.
