Ingredients
Scale
9 no-boil lasagna noodles
1 pound ground beef
1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
15 ounces ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a standard 13×9 inch sheet pan.
Cook the ground beef and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Stir the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper into the cooked beef mixture. Remove the skillet from the heat.
In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth.
Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce across the bottom of the prepared sheet pan.
Place 3 no-boil lasagna noodles over the sauce layer.
Spread half of the ricotta mixture evenly over the noodles. Sprinkle with one-third of the meat sauce and one cup of the mozzarella cheese.
Repeat the layering: Place 3 more noodles on top, spread the remaining ricotta mixture, then top with another third of the meat sauce and one cup of the mozzarella cheese.
Place the final 3 noodles on top. Cover the entire pan tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake covered for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the top cheese is golden brown and bubbly, paying attention to the edges for crispiness.
Let the sheet pan lasagna rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
Using no-boil noodles keeps this recipe fast and simple, fitting perfectly into your weeknight schedule.
The edges of the lasagna touching the pan will become delightfully crispy; this is a feature of this sheet pan method.
For a richer flavor, you can brown the beef with half the garlic and add the other half when mixing the sauce.
