Make this easy, creamy Stuffed Mushroom Dip to capture the savory flavor of classic stuffed mushrooms in a warm, scoopable appetizer perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound cremini or white button mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small shallot, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie dish or small oven-safe skillet.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and the liquid evaporates, about 8 to 10 minutes. You want the mushrooms to brown slightly.
  3. Add the minced shallot to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fold the cooled mushroom and garlic mixture into the cheese mixture until everything is evenly combined.
  6. Spread the dip mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish. If using, sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the top is lightly golden brown.
  8. Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can brown 1/2 pound of cooked, crumbled sausage and mix it in with the mushroom mixture.
  • This dip is excellent for entertaining; prepare the mixture ahead of time and refrigerate it up to 24 hours before baking.
