A viral TikTok recipe for a creamy, cheesy salmon or crab casserole topped with toasted nori and spicy mayo. This easy party casserole is perfect for weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sushi rice, cooked
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound salmon or crab meat, cooked and flaked
  • 1/2 cup Japanese mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon furikake seasoning
  • 1/4 cup shredded nori sheets
  • Optional: tobiko, avocado slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour this mixture over the cooked sushi rice and gently mix to combine.
  3. In another bowl, mix the cooked salmon or crab meat with the Japanese mayonnaise and sriracha until well combined.
  4. Spread the seasoned sushi rice evenly into a baking dish (an 8×8 inch dish works well).
  5. Top the rice with the salmon or crab mixture, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the furikake seasoning over the top.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and bubbly. You can broil for the last 1-2 minutes for extra toasting, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
  9. Serve with shredded nori sheets for scooping. Garnish with tobiko or avocado if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more sriracha to the crab/salmon mixture.
  • You can use imitation crab meat or a mix of salmon and crab.
  • This dish is best served warm.
  • Consider this a delicious alternative to traditional meal planning services.
